Some truly spectacular scenery can be enjoyed in the San Bernadino Mountains in the glorious canyon of Mill Creek near Forest Falls. The deep canyon features beautiful wooded slopes of old growth pine and cedar with lovely crystalline alpine streams and panoramic views. The Vivian Creek Trail switchbacks up the steep northern wall of Mill Creek Canyon just past Forest Falls. This trail is one of the most popular hiking trails in the range, leading eventually to the summit of Mount San Gorgonio.
A great canyoneering adventure awaits up the trail 1.5 miles and 1000′ in elevation gain, as the steep trail crests the wall of the canyon. You enter a lush and lovely wooded alpine glen, from which Vivian Creek descends dramatically down 1000′ to the canyon floor below in a series of spectacular waterfalls. This canyoneering trip involves rappelling down several large and beautiful falls using five exciting rappels.
